Here’s WHY you need to book your meet & greet:
We Book Up Quickly!
As professional pet sitters, we are booked weeks or even months ahead, especially during holidays, summer vacations, and school breaks. An early meet & greet helps secure a spot on our schedule and prevents last-minute disappointments. When you pre book your meet & greet with us your chances of booking with us is far more doable without stress and missed details.
Book Meet & Greets EARLY for:
Less Stress
We do not recommend a rushed introduction the day BEFORE a trip often leaves:
- YOU feeling anxious
- Pets feeling uncertain and stressed
- We lack knowing important information regarding your pets and home
Meeting in advance (2 to 3 weeks) allows everyone to feel more comfortable and prepared. We want you to be overjoyed to take your trip without any hesitation that you have left your pets and home in excellent care!
Adequate Planning
We want clear instructions regarding:
- Veterinarians information
- Emergency contacts and guardians
- Medical conditions and medications
- Household systems
- Backup access for emergency care
When these details are discussed ahead of time, we can focus on caring for your pet rather than troubleshooting during an emergency. We want all the details to care for your pets and your home while you are away, if a disaster happened or you were unable to return.
Booking a Meet & Greet in Advance gives us confidence you are committed to your pet and homes well being-not that they are last thoughts in your plan!
From our perspective, clients who schedule early tend to be more organized and communicative. This creates a stronger working relationship and helps set clear expectations on both sides. It gives us every opportunity to say YES to your pet care needs!
We need to make sure WE are the right fit
A professional pet sitter needs to determine whether they’re the right match for your pet. During a meet & greet in assessing things like:
- Temperament and behavior
- Comfort level with strangers
- Reactivity toward people or other animals
- Special medical or behavioral needs
- Home environment and safety concerns
If we discover they’re NOT the best fit, scheduling early gives you time to find alternative care rather than scrambling at the last minute.
We need to make sure to build trust
Many pets don’t immediately trust new people. A meet & greet several weeks before a trip gives the pet time to remember our scent, voice, and presence. For nervous pets, we may even recommend a second visit before the service begins.
We need time to address all aspects
We will want to identify concerns during the initial meet & greet:
- The pet is difficult to handle on a leash.
- Medication routines are complex.
- The pet has separation anxiety.
- Access instructions need clarification.
- The home requires special security procedures or systems.
Discovering these issues early allows everyone to create a plan before the booking starts.
Our Policy-
From our perspective, scheduling a meet & greet well in advance is important because it protects both the pet and the quality of care we provide.
We aren’t asking for advance meet & greets simply as a formality. We need enough time to learn your pet’s needs, evaluate whether we can safely provide care, build trust with your pet, and ensure that everyone is prepared before you’re out the door. The earlier the meeting happens, the smoother and less stressful the experience is for you, your pet, and us.
If you would like to set up a meet & greet with us-fill out the form and let’s get started so you can plan your adventure!
